Music Video Production on a Budget: Seattle Artist's Guide

February 19, 20255 min readBy NuWav Music Team

Why Every Artist Needs a Music Video

In today's music landscape, a strong visual is no longer optional — it's the primary way fans discover and connect with new artists. Platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram Reels reward artists who pair their music with compelling visuals. But many independent musicians assume professional video production is out of reach financially.

At NuWav Music, we've built our video production services specifically for independent artists. We offer two packages designed to deliver maximum visual impact at accessible price points — from a $300 Run N Gun shoot to an $800 Full Production experience.

Package 1: Run N Gun Music Video ($300)

The Run N Gun package is built for artists who need a high-energy, authentic visual without the overhead of a full production crew. This is the ideal choice for singles, freestyle visuals, and social media content that needs to move fast.

What's included: One location, single camera setup with our Sony A7S III, basic color correction, and a 48-72 hour turnaround. The aesthetic is raw and energetic — think performance-driven shots that capture the artist in their element. This package is perfect for artists who already have a strong location in mind and want a quick, professional cut.

    • 1 location shoot with Sony A7S III cinema camera
    • Single camera angle coverage
    • Basic color correction and grading
    • 48-72 hour delivery turnaround
    • Best for: singles, freestyles, social media drops, teaser content

Package 2: Full Production Music Video ($800)

When you're ready to invest in a visual that tells a story, the Full Production package delivers a cinema-grade experience. This is where NuWav Music's creative team shines — from concept development to the final color grade.

What's included: 2-3 locations, professional lighting setups with Nanlite Tube Lights, gimbal-stabilized cinematography with our DJI RS3 Pro, visual effects in post-production, and a full creative treatment with a shotlist. You'll work with our director to develop the concept before filming begins, ensuring every frame serves the narrative of your song.

    • 2-3 location filming with Sony A7S III
    • Professional lighting rigs (Nanlite Tube Lights)
    • DJI RS3 Pro gimbal stabilization for smooth cinematic movement
    • Visual effects and motion graphics in post-production
    • Full creative treatment with shotlist developed pre-shoot
    • Social cutdowns for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts
    • Best for: lead singles, album rollouts, brand-defining visuals

    Our Video Equipment Arsenal

Both packages use the same professional-grade equipment — the difference is in scope, not quality. Our camera package centers on the Sony A7S III, a full-frame cinema camera known for its exceptional low-light performance and 4K recording capabilities. For lighting, we use Nanlite Tube Lights, which offer RGB color control and battery-powered flexibility for any location.

Stabilization is handled by the DJI RS3 Pro gimbal, allowing for smooth tracking shots and dynamic camera movement without the jitter of handheld footage. In post-production, our editors handle color grading, visual effects, and motion graphics to give your video a polished, professional finish.

Choosing the Right Package for Your Project

The right package depends on your goals, timeline, and budget. If you're dropping a single and need a visual fast, the Run N Gun at $300 gets you a professional product in days, not weeks. If you're launching an album, building your artist brand, or want a visual that stands out on editorial playlists, the Full Production at $800 gives you the creative depth to make that happen.

We also offer a Mic Performance Package ($150) — a single one-shot take with a mic drop in the frame. It's a visual performance only (no live audio recorded), perfect for quick social content that shows you in the booth.

Tips for a Successful Music Video Shoot

Regardless of which package you choose, a few preparation tips will ensure your shoot goes smoothly:

    • Scout your location in advance — check for lighting conditions, permits, and noise levels
    • Bring 2-3 outfit options so you can change looks between setups
    • Prepare a shot list or mood board to share with our director before filming
    • Arrive camera-ready with hair and makeup done before the call time
    • Communicate any must-have shots or specific creative ideas during the treatment phase
